Servicing is quite often overlooked but after spending money on an installation it is important to keep your equipment serviced to avoid the possibility of faults developing that can cause component or system failure. Annual servicing is also a condition of the RHI ( Renewable Heat Incentive)
New Generation Energy can help with annual servicing and corrective maintenance. The installation does not have to have been installed by NGE, this work would be subject to a site survey.
For complete piece of mind we also offer an annual service plan that consists of an annual service of the appliance and one call out visit per year (business hours). We can also incorporate any additional work requirements at the service visit at a reduced rate.

Air and Ground Source

Should you choose us to look after your heat pump we will maintain your system so that it continues to provide efficient heating and hot water and runs reliably.

You can either select an annual premium select plan which includes:
•    Annual service of heat pump
•    One free breakdown visit per year (normal business hours). If we cannot fix the problem we will provide a full quotation for the remedial work required, see notes.
•    A system glycol change at a reduced rate of £40, if carried out during the annual service.
•    A reduced labour rate for any other work that is requested during the site visit.

Pay as you go
Should you not wish to choose the premium select plan above a standard annual service can be under taken. A summary of the checks are detailed below:
•    Clean outside unit, check evaporator fins are not damaged (air source).
•    Inspect drain holes or pipework for condense.
•    Internal heat pump refrigeration circuit and primary flow pipes for leakage.
•    Electrical connections (power and signal)
•    Glycol level.
•    Ground loop pressure (ground source).
•    Unvented cylinder annual maintenance.
•    Filters and strainers.
•    Sensors and switches
•    System software, weather compensation curves.
•    Provide service report.

PV Servicing & Solaredge Update

PV systems require very little maintenance, module cleaning is required should the location be in an area that suffers from a large amount of air-borne particulates. Studies have shown that dirty modules can suffer up to 5% loss in energy yield.

Recently we have been receiving calls from clients who have issues mainly with insulation resistance and where the original installer has gone out of business. Usually the root cause is electrical wiring.

New Generation Energy can help with problems like these. We will carry out an initial site visit to test the system, and then prepare a quotation for the work. We carry stock of cables, switches and connectors.  If we can resolve the problem during the visit we will endeavour to do so.

The survey cost is £150 plus vat. This price includes two hours of engineer time (travel and labour inclusive). Extra labour and parts will be charged at our standard rates.

People moving to buildings that have PV may want to speak to an installer in advance so should any problems occur they can be fixed quickly. We offer a welcome service where we will visit site, inspect the system (visual from the ground), inspect the wiring and the inverter. A string test is also undertaken where possible.

Any customer taking up this service can also benefit from telephone support for the forthcoming year.

The cost for this work is £175 plus vat.

Solaredge

Many customers have had calls from companies offering a Solaredge inverter upgrade for their system. In most instances customers systems are performing very well and simply do not need any updating. For those who have an inverter failure or think their inverter may be faulty please call us to discuss the merit of the Solaredge system upgrade.

The Solaredge system works very well and has one of the best remote monitoring platforms on the market.

Please call if you are concerned about the energy yield of your system or have had a call regarding a Solaredge system upgrade.

Biomass

Should you choose us to look after your biomass boiler we will maintain your system so that it continues to provide efficient heating and hot water and runs reliably.
Biomass boiler installations can be quite complex so if we did not install your boiler we would need to undertake a site survey prior to servicing the appliance.

A survey costs £75 and this cost is removed from the service fee should you choose to have an annual service or take out a service plan with us.

You can either select an annual premium select plan which includes:
•    Annual service of Biomass boiler
•    One free breakdown visit per year (normal business hours). If we cannot fix the problem we will provide a full quotation for the remedial work required, see note
•    A reduced labour rate for any other work that is requested during the site visit

Pay as you go

•    Flue condition, fixing and flue draught. A flue sweep will need to be completed prior to the service by a certified chimney sweep
•    Appliance serviced in-line with manufacturer’s instructions
•    Unvented cylinder maintenance
•    Bulk delivery system
•    Ignition system
•    Filters and strainers
•    Sensors and switches
•    System software
•    Electrical connections power and signal
•    CO alarm
•    Ventilation
•    Provide service report

 Solar Thermal

Should you choose us to look after your Solar thermal we will maintain your system so that it continues to provide hot water and runs reliably and safely.

If we did not install your system a pre survey inspection will be required as we find many older systems need remedial action. The survey costs £50 (dependent on distance), once the system has been inspected a service cost can then then be quoted.

A summary of the checks are detailed below:
•    Visual inspection of modules from the ground
•    Panel cleaning at additional cost
•    Pipe work from the panels to the pump set
•    Unvented cylinder maintenance as required
•    Glycol level and condition
•    Electrical connections
•    Thermal protection devices
•    Expansion Vessel
•    Flow rate
•    Controller set-up
•    Provide service report

Endurance Wind Power
New Generation Energy have partnered with DC21 to provide ongoing service and remedial support for Endurance wind turbines. By partnering with DC21 we have the availability of a large range of spare parts for the turbine.
Through DC21, comprehensive service plans can be provided to ensure that your turbine keeps running. Since Endurance Windpower entered into administration turbine owners are naturally very concerned about their turbine. We can help by ensuring that regular maintenance is completed and turbine uptime is kept to a maximum.
